Helping You Succeed

Learning is clearly a collaborative effort at Brewster Academy. While you’ll be expected to challenge yourself and meet high standards, you’ll receive assistance every step of the way.

We offer two specific programs to ensure that you’re on the right track from the beginning: an Instructional Support (IS) program and an English as a Second Language (ESL) program. They will help you progress at a high level of learning and prepare for life beyond Brewster.

Instructional Support Program
The goal of the instructional support program at Brewster is to accelerate student learning by providing a customized program that recognizes the student's talents while helping him or her to acquire the skills and strategies needed to become an independent lifelong learner IS teacher and student

This individualized program is designed to enhance a student’s reading, writing, organization, time management, and study skills so he or she can become a more effective lifelong learner. Upon your acceptance to Brewster, our admission committee will review your interview, application, educational achievement and aptitude test results, teacher recommendations, transcripts, and other information. We’ll determine your educational needs and complete a skill development plan as part of the decision-making process. If we recommend you for instructional support, your admittance to Brewster is contingent on your participation in the program.

To learn more about Brewster’s Instructional Support program, contact Dean Kim Ross at 603.569.7126 or Kim_Ross@brewsteracademy.org.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

Designed to help students with listening, speaking, reading, writing, content instruction, and language instruction, our ESL program offers three levels of support: ESL 1, ESL 2, and enrollment in core classes with an instructional support plan.

Tests administered in the ESL program include:
  • TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language
  • SLEP: Secondary Language English Proficiency/Test
  • TWE: Test of Written English
