Nestled on 80 acres along a half-mile shoreline of Lake Winnipesaukee, the Brewster campus is stunning with its abundant green spaces, majestic trees, and quintessential New England buildings offering picturesque views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Just as the natural setting is impressive so too are Brewster’s buildings. You will quickly see how everything we do at Brewster is intentional too optimize the learning, living, and recreational experience of students.
Contemporary classrooms feature flexible designs to accommodate the different types of learning happening within them – discussion, research, peer tutoring, direct teaching, and collaboration. Our two main academic buildings feature team areas, science labs, a library – with a well balanced collection combining the best of digital offerings and print possibilities; and an amphitheatre connecting the two buildings.
Most of our 20 dormitories feature new, versatile furnishings, fresh paint and carpet, and lake and mountain views. All include lounges equipped for relaxation and hanging out with friends and at least one faculty residence.
Our current performing arts facility includes a blackbox theatre designed for theatrical practices, intimate performances, and weekend coffeehouses; a hardwood maple dance floor for dance students; music practice rooms; a green screen area; and multi-media labs for digital exploration of all types. The second level of the Rogers Building houses the current main stage, which will be moving to Anderson Hall once the retrofit of this Hall’s existing performance space is complete.
Athletics facilities include the 50,000 square-foot Smith Center for Athletics and Wellness, the Pinckney Boathouse, the Haines Climbing Barn, the Zarkin Tennis Complex, a rowing tank, an indoor track, an indoor turf, six playing fields, including an outdoor turf, and of course, Lake Winnipesaukee.
Brewster is committed to maintaining a beautiful and highly functional campus. During the last decade, the Academy has approved expenditures of $20 million for new facilities and renovations to existing ones—and access to the latest technology is already seamlessly integrated into the Brewster experience. Wherever you go on the Brewster campus, one thing is for certain: you’ll feel at home.
