Volunteering

Experience Brewster through volunteer opportunities involving athletics, drama/arts, trips, and events such as lectures, formals, and book clubs; or help support student recruitment efforts through the Parent Admissions Network (PAN).

Support Our Athletes
The students love to see you on the sidelines at competitions! Please support our teams by attending home games and by hosting team events and receptions on campus before or after games. For a schedule of games, click here. To arrange to host a reception or to become a team parent, contact Julie Zahn in the Alumni and Parent Programs Office at 603.569.7173.

Lead a Trip
Local parents can take a group of students off campus in a Brewster Microbird bus for a weekend activity, such as a trip to the shopping outlets, a movie in Gilford, a hike in the Lakes Region, downhill skiing, or an afternoon of apple picking. To arrange a trip, contact Charlie Hossack, director of student development, 603.569.7108. The students welcome your involvement!

Drama/Arts
* Attend performances whenever possible.
* Surprise the group with a special snack or treat.
* Send flowers the day of the show for the director or for the cast to share.
* Take a group photo and have copies made for all members of the group.

Parent Admissions Network
The mission of Brewster's Parent Admissions Network (PAN) is to support the efforts of the Office of Admission by engaging the talents and energies of parents who are concerned about and interested in Brewster's effort to enroll outstanding students. The Parent Admissions Network helps the school by working with prospective families in a range of environments including personal interviews, school fairs, and receptions. The primary function of the PAN volunteer is to serve as a representative of Brewster and to promote awareness of the school.

PAN members find their work in the area of student recruitment to be some of their most rewarding service to and involvement with Brewster. PAN provides parent volunteers the opportunity to have an impact on the shape of Brewster by influencing which students comprise our annual enrollment.

Our objective is to develop a positive relationship with all prospective Brewster families. We know that parent-to-prospective parent contact has influenced many families regarding their school choice. Prospective families, parents, and students alike, greatly value the opportunity to learn about Brewster through contact with a current parent.

Parents are perceived to be highly credible, objective, and excellent sources of up-to-date information about the Academy. PAN members are regularly sent post cards with names, addresses, and phone numbers of prospective families who have already visited Brewster for a tour and interview. We find that a follow-up call from a current parent who lives in their geographical area helps to answer those unanswered questions, prompts action, or helps to make a decision about the next step. Parents of alumni also are welcome to join PAN.

For more information about how to get involved with PAN, please contact Margaret Martin in the Admission Office at 603.569.7200. Or, to become involved today, please fill out the brief form below and submit it online.

Become A PAN Volunteer
Listed below are ways in which our PAN volunteers share Brewster. Please identify those activities in which you would like to participate.
Calling Prospective Families
Calling Prospective Families: This allows prospective families to connect with a current parent and learn more about Brewster.
Representing Brewster at School Fairs: Many public and private schools sponsor programs designed to help students and families learn more about educational options.
Hosting a Reception: A reception offers new and current parents and alumni an opportunity to meet and discuss Brewster, the school search process, and educational issues related to their child. It also provides current parents with a unique opportunity to relax and talk with Head of School, Dr. Michael Cooper, Brewster faculty or administrators, and each other.
