Yoga is offered three times a week as a sports enrichment class. Each
session is about an hour long and taught by professional certified
yoga-fit instructor, Pamela Swanick. Pam teaches a variety of styles, including
Ashtanga, Sport, Hatha, and Power yoga. She has been teaching for more
than five years to hospitals and school systems as well as on her own.
"The students are so into it, I'm just thrilled! It's nice to see them interested in staying healthy and fit and having a good time doing it. There is such a peaceful atmosphere in the room and they really stay focused and challenged. They frequently surprise themselves as they learn what their bodies can and cannot do."
The students often say, "I can't wait to see what we're going to do next" and that they can't wait until our next class - that says it all. Research shows that yoga helps manage ADHD and controls anxiety.
