The afternoon fitness class is designed to complement the afternoon enrichment classes, such as pottery, computer graphics, and creative writing. Students attend fitness classes three times a week and participate in academic enrichment classes for the other three days. The course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of stretching, weight lifting, and basic aerobic exercise. Students are required to complete a warm-up and exercise program (including an aerobic activity on a treadmill, stationary bicycle, stepper machine, or ergometer) and a cool down.
During the fall and spring trimesters, students in the class also develop team-building skills by participating in intramural sports, such as soccer, basketball, and touch football.
