Brewster Academy’s girls’ soccer program is designed to
provide students with the opportunity to develop the athletic and social skills
necessary for success in collegiate soccer and in life. A competitive schedule and rigorous
training sessions help players develop their technical, tactical, physical, and
psychological abilities (the four pillars of soccer). In developing these abilities, our players can reach their
potential as athletes and teammates.
Coaches focus not only on providing instruction, expertise, and
constructive feedback but also on encouraging players to become active,
collaborative, and responsible participants within their team and their
school.
Over the past decade, Brewster girls’ soccer has developed
into one of the most successful programs in New England. A member of the Lakes Region League
(District II of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council), Brewster
has won or shared five league titles since 2000. In the challenging league, the Bobcats annually compete
against Holderness School, Kimball Union Academy, New Hampton School, Proctor
Academy, Tilton School, and Vermont Academy. Brewster’s schedule also includes
several non-league opponents from New Hampshire and Maine; in 2009’s regular
season, Brewster will face Berwick Academy, Gould Academy, Kents Hill School,
Phillips Exeter Academy, and St. Paul’s School.
Over the past nine years, Brewster’s regular season
achievements have led to seven invitations to the New England Class C
tournament, and the Bobcats have won or shared the New England championship
three times. In past tournaments,
Brewster has faced some of the best preparatory school teams in New England, including
Greens Farms, Groton, Rivers, St. Luke’s, Wilbraham & Munson, and
Wheeler.
After graduating from college, several alumni of the
Brewster girls’ soccer program have gone on to join strong collegiate soccer
programs. Brewster alums are
currently playing soccer at Lasell College, the University of New Hampshire,
the University of Prince Edward Island, and William Smith College.
