The Team
|
|
Over the years, Brewster has had a very strong boys' basketball team. The program has sent players to many Division I schools, including the University of Kansas, University of North Carolina, Oklahoma University, Duke University, Syracuse University, University of Virginia, Providence College, Iowa State University, Xavier University, University of Connecticut, University of Texas, Vanderbilt University, Brown University, Princeton University, Cornell University, and Columbia University.
The 2009-10 team captured the National Prep Championship, as well as the New England Championship and finished with a record of 35-5. The program has averaged 29 victories over the past 4 years.
Brewster had 35 alumni on NCAA Division I rosters during the2009-10 academic year.
The basketball program is increasingly attracting the attention of colleges and universities across the country. This year, representatives from more than 100 schools have visited campus to watch our student-athletes.
The goal of Brewster's boys' varsity basketball program is to play competitively within the NEPSAC Class A division and to be in a position to qualify for post-season play in the New England Tournament. While striving for a successful competitive record, coaches also teach team play, provide players with the best coaching in fundamental offensive and defensive skills, and help players grow in self-confidence and self-esteem.
