	Princeton Review SAT Prep Course
	Brewster is offering an optional Princeton Review SAT Prep Course for juniors, which takes place on campus beginning in February. For more information and to register, review the Princeton Review Letter and Enrollment Form (PDF).

For Parents of Seniors and Postgraduates

December 4, 2009 -- The College Office is busy helping students submit their college applications. It is our goal to have students send applications before the holiday break. The college logbook on your parent portal can help you keep track of what applications have been submitted. It is a good idea to encourage your student to follow up in mid-January with each college or university's Admission Office to make sure the applications are complete.

Please ensure that your student has sent his or her SATs and/or ACTs to the colleges and university's that require them. It can take several weeks for these scores to be processed by the colleges and universities so plan to send them as soon as possible. Scores can be sent from the student's online accounts on the College Board (www.collegeboard.com) or ACT (www.actstudent.org) websites.

For Parents of Juniors

December 4, 2009 -- Juniors received their PSAT results this week. We gathered as a group to go over how to read the score report and how to use the report as a tool to improve. The students’ then broke down into their advisory groups and talked one-on-one with their advisors. A copy of the score report and a letter outlining what is coming up in the next few months was mailed to parents this week as well.

Important: This year, students will need to register for the upcoming SATs and/or ACTs online. Below are the websites and test dates you will need to help them register. Please note there is a December 15 registration deadline for the January 23 test, which is an optional test. All juniors must register for the May 1 test date.

January 23: Optional
May 1: Required
June 5: Optional; this date is a good time to take SAT Subject tests

ACT: www.actstudent.org
April 10: Optional
June 12: Optional

College Office Forms

So that we may get to know our juniors as quickly as possible, the college office would like each student and their parents to fill out a questionnaire. The student's junior year advisor is also asked to complete a questionnaire. This information is used during our initial meeting with the student and helps us prepare their first college list. Please complete the appropriate form and submit it to the college office by February 15th.
