2010 Revisit Days

This year, the Office of Admission hosted three revisit days. Prospective students and their families came back to campus to experience Brewster through classroom visits, community events and spending time with current students and faculty. We are busy enrolling new students for the 2010-2011 school year. Congratulations to our incoming class!

We continue the trend of welcoming Brewster siblings to our student body. Pictured below are Sarah Geyssel '10 and incoming freshman, Christopher Geyssel '14, who will join Sarah and their sister, Kirstin '11 on campus in the fall.

Gold Key Holiday Dinner

Thirty members of the Gold Key Society gathered in the Pinckney Boathouse to swap holiday gifts and feast on a pasta bar followed by homemade sundaes.  The Admission Office wanted to say thank you for their efforts to make our many campus visitors this fall feel so welcomed.  Families continually remark on the incredible sense of community and enthusiastic feeling at Brewster as they tour classes and hallways.

Dr. Cooper thanked tour guides for their contributions to the school and emphasized the importance of their roles for helping prospective families with the daunting process of finding the right school fit.  The gift swapping was lively and the most popular item was a pair of flannel "Santa" boxers -- not sure who ended up with them!

Admissions is on the Road

The Brewster Admission Office is in full swing as we start off another busy season. We have begun the interview process for the 2010-2011 school year and are meeting many talented students who will be part of our student body next year.

This fall, in addition to our interviews here on campus, potential families have the opportunity to meet us in many places around the world. We have visits planned in Pennsylvania, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Bermuda, Saudi Arabia, Korea, and Taiwan. If you live in any of these areas and would like more information about our visits, please contact the Admission Office at 603-569-7200.

Saudi Arabia Visit
Director of Admission and External Affairs Lynne Palmer traveled to Saudi Arabia recently as an invited school guest of Saudi Aramco.  She visited with school counselors and students at Dhahran, Abqaiq, Udhailiyah, and Ras Tanura middle schools and gave a presentation to families who were interested in Brewster Academy.  Dulce and Walter Smith hosted families from Ras Tanura in their home on Tuesday evening and took Lynne to Khobar the next day to visit the city and taste some of the local fare.  "It was a fascinating trip where I learned so much about the culture and expectations of our Aramco families and met some fabulous young people that I look forward to getting to know through the application process.  Thank you very much to the Smith's who helped me navigate my way around the Aramco camps and guided me through my first visit."

2009 Brewster Academy Open House
The rain did not deter our open house visitors on Saturday, October 3rd!

We welcomed over 35 families who traveled from as far away as Vermont and as close as Wolfeboro.  They participated in student tours that had them visiting with faculty representing various components to school life at Brewster while witnessing a typical Saturday class schedule.  Along their route they spoke to our college counselors, visited the Bobcat Den (where lucky visitors were able to sample a Brewster smoothie), learned about Brewster’s integrated academic support program, toured our flagship athletic center and met dynamic teachers passionate about the arts.  Following their tours, Head of School, Mike Cooper, led a panel discussion of students and faculty that allowed families to understand in greater depth the distinction of teaching, learning and living at Brewster.   Thank you to all of our visitors for braving the weather, and we look forward to your return to campus in the near future.
