Meehan, Morris Recipients of Athletic Director's Prize

May 2016 -- Teagan Meehan (Tuftonboro, New Hampshire) and Darby Morris (Lexington, Massachusetts) are the 2016 recipients of the Athletic Director Prizes. The Prize is awarded each year at Commencement to a male and female graduate who have demonstrated positive and consistent contributions to interscholastic athletics.

"Both Teagan and Darby have been major contributors in a variety of sports in our athletic program during their time," noted Lawlor. "Our coaches have consistently praised these two over the years, and it was fitting to honor them with these awards."

Meehan, a four-year Brewster student, was a three-sport athlete (golf, hockey, and baseball) finishing his Brewster career with 11 varsity letters. He was captain of a golf team that won three straight conference titles; was one of the varsity hockey team’s top forwards; and captained the baseball team as a senior. Meehan will attend Hobart College where he plans to play golf.

Morris arrived at Brewster as a sophomore and also was a three-sport athlete (soccer, hockey, and lacrosse), finished her high school career with nine varsity letters. She was a two-year captain of the girls’ soccer team that won three consecutive league championships and helped lead the program to a New England title last fall. Morris also was captain of the hockey team and was named all conference as a defender in lacrosse. She will attend Northeastern University.

"It was really nice to honor these two," continued Lawlor. "Not only are they impressive athletes but they are great individuals and true ambassadors for Brewster Academy. Both left quite an impact here in Bobcat Nation, and we will be cheering for them as they move on."
