Girls' Soccer Stopped in Finals of NEPSAC Tournament

November 20, 2011
On Sunday, the Lady Bobcats and St. Luke's School (New Cannan, Connecticut) gave fans 80 minutes of awesome high school soccer. At the final whistle, however, it was 1-0 for St. Luke's.

St. Luke's School put an excellent shot past Bobcat keeper Danielle Tidd in the start of the second half and that proved to be all that they needed for the victory.
Congratulations to the girls and to Coaches Butcher and Cooper for another great season!
The Brewster team had a dramatic run through the season ending with a 16-2-1 overall record and earned the seventh Lakes Region title since 2000.

"This is a very special group of girls," said head coach Matt Butcher.  "We had a great year and we have so many things to be proud of including putting forth this effort today.  I am really proud of this team and it will be one that I always remember."

The girls will miss the seniors but they will build on the success of this season in the years to come.  "We are proud of this program," said Director of Athletics Matt Lawlor.  "Coaches Butcher and Cooper do a fantastic job and they are easy to root for.  They do everything the right way, they play hard, win and lose with class, and always demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship and character! I want to thank this team for giving the Brewster community the opportunity to follow their great season."
