Brewster Tops Tilton in Front of Record-Breaking Crowd at Smith Center

Before the largest home crowd in history, with sports reporters from The New York Times, the local ABC news affiliate, among other media outlets, and college scouts throughout the packed gym, Brewster improved to 28-0 on the season with a win over Tilton School, 60-56. Florida State-bound Aaron Thomas led the Bobcats with 19 points, while unsigned forward JaKarr Sampson contributed 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Michigan-signee Mitch McGary chipped in with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Xavier-bound Semaj Christon had 7 assists. Unsigned guard Joe Bramanti had the key steal with less than 15 seconds remaining with Brewster up by a mere 2 points.

For Tilton, Iowa State-bound Georges Niang had a game-high 32 points, while the consensus top ranked player in the nation, Nerlens Noel added 8 points for TIiton, which drops to 24-4 on the year.
