Athletic FieldsBrewster has seven lush playing fields, all of which overlook Wolfeboro Bay. Brown Field, equipped with in-ground watering and an east side viewing embankment, is located in the center of campus directly in front of the Wilson Center and is home to our girls’ varsity field hockey and lacrosse teams. By far the best field from which to catch a sensational sunset. Palazzo Field, home to our boys’ varsity soccer and lacrosse teams, borders the lake and on occasion claims a soccer or lacrosse ball or two. Its east side embankment provides natural bleachers for viewing games and taking in the picturesque views of the lake and mountains. Ample parking just above the embankment allows for sheltered viewing in inclement weather. Palazzo field is equipped with in-ground watering. Adjacent to Palazzo Field is our baseball diamond. In the fall, the outfield serves as an additional soccer practice field. Directly in front of the Smith Center is Fry Field, home to boys’ and girls’ second soccer teams as well as the boys’ second lacrosse team. Fry Field has an east-side viewing embankment and in-ground watering. Upper and Lower Clark Fields line the east side of campus near Lamb Court. Upper Clark is home to girls’ varsity soccer and Lower Clark is shared by the boys' third lacrosse and soccer teams. Monument Field sits on the north side of campus, between Sargent Hall and South Main Street. The girls’ second field hockey and lacrosse teams practice here but play their games on Brown Field. Care of our fields is passionately and professionally overseen by staff expert, Mark DeWolfe, in conjunction with a local field maintenance service. Mark inspects each field first thing every morning, keeping a close eye on the schedule and on schedule changes being sure that lines are freshly painted (by Hales) for each home contest and that goals and nets are safe and in top condition. Turf in high use areas is routinely replaced with top quality sod to ensure that a wet season will not result in long term scars. Mark is considered to be one of the best and most knowledgeable field experts in the area and has been called on to consult with staff from other New Hampshire schools. We have been told that Brewster has the finest grass surfaces in the state. |
