Basketball Guard Xavier Silas Commits to Colorado

Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, November 2005 — Xavier Silas, a senior at Brewster Academy, will attend the University of Colorado in the fall to play basketball. The 6'5" shooting guard has been playing basketball since he was 10.

"The atmosphere was great [at Colorado], and I have a good opportunity to start as a freshman and make some noise in the Big 12 at age 18," Silas said of his decision to attend the University of Colorado.

"Coach Patton reminds me a lot of my father, and my father taught me everything I know so that was the main deciding factor," he added.

Silas, who previously attended Austin High School in Austin, Texas, chose to attend Brewster Academy because of his age. “I skipped kindergarten and I was in the Class of 2005 all of my life so I decided to graduate with my true class. After I visited Brewster last year, I just knew Brewster was the right place for me.”
