Our teachers participate in numerous opportunities throughout the year to continue their own education. In addition to conferences and the Brewster Summer Institute, a six-week pre-service professional development program, our teachers participate in mentoring and ongoing school-sponsored faculty workshops, and are evaluated and rewarded based on student performance in their classrooms.

In addition to these professional development opportunities, all your teachers participate in a program of professional support, feedback, and evaluation that is like no other. The system begins with observations. Teachers are observed numerous times during the year to get feedback that is grounded in how they are using specific teaching practices to help you learn best. Teachers then get specific feedback from their colleagues and supervisors and they also assess their own performance. You participate in the process as well by completing surveys on how well each of your teachers is meeting your needs. Other data about student performance is then used to complete the process. All this information is used to guide teachers in the development of goals for their professional growth.
