The Portal

In addition to standard Internet resources, Brewster Academy uses Internet technology to drive our academic and administrative programs. We use a powerful database engine to coordinate and manage our classrooms, recognition program, curriculum, and grades, and use a portal developed here at Brewster Academy as the centerpiece of the system.

The portal allows faculty, staff, students, and parents to log in from anywhere. Students can log into the Portal and get immediate access to their current curriculum, assignments, and grades. Students actually use the portal to complete their homework, submitting assignments to their teachers for grading and review. Teachers use the portal to manage their classrooms, develop and distribute new curriculum, perform all reporting functions, and drive their professional development at Brewster Academy. Parents use the portal to review their childrens’ grades once a trimester and recognition scores twice a trimester. Parents whose children receive Instructional Support or other academic assistance also can log into the portal each week and receive summaries of how their children are performing in class.
