Student Activities
You won't find a shortage of activities in which to participate at Brewster. Whatever your interests, you're sure to find a group that shares your interest and enthusiasm. Whether you're a movie buff (Club 25), a paintball enthusiast, a knitter, a dancer, or enjoy playing with children (Brewster Big Friends), there is something for everyone. You may prefer to spend time helping others with a community service project, participating in a school leadership position, or working on a local or international project with the Interact Club. Perhaps you just want to get off campus for a day of shopping in Boston, winter skiing, or seeing a movie ... the choices are endless.

Winter Wonderland Formal
Disguised as a snowflake, Marlow Appe '10, chair of the dance committee, had a great time preparing the barn at the Windrifter Resort for the annual winter formal dance. The theme was simply, Winter Wonderland. The 120 students in attendance were entertained by our own DJ's -- Justin Moura ('11) of Bermuda and Alessandro Dini ('11) of Italy (below). The chocolate dipping fountains were a big hit as were the other delicious goodies prepared and served by our terrific dining hall staff.

Taking the Lead!
January 2009 -- Brewster students are passionate about teaching lessons of tolerance to others. Visiting sevent and eighth graders from the Wolfeboro community learned about the asumptions that we make because of our differences. As part of their service learning project, Brewster students created an interactive program that promoted thoughtful dialogue between students on how to handle real life situations and take positive steps toward making our communities better places to live together regardless of race. Congratulations to all the students that chose to make a difference.

Celebrating Diversity
January 2009 -- Brewster students find many ways to keep warm during the chilly winter days. This week the Foreign Language department organized a fair with lively Latin music, language games, delicious food, and prizes. Students created original games that reinforced their French and Spanish skills at all levels. Some of our students learned to Samba, Rhumba, and Merengue with the help of a professional dance instructior. Sarah MacDonnell '11, Brittainie Pierce '10, and Katie Brewster '09 created an Eiffel tower game. Naadir Tharpe '11 was voted the best dancer of the

December 6, 2008 -- Back on campus by popular demand, Recycled Percussion returned for the group's fifth Brewster appearance. The three drummers – Justin Spencer, Ryan Vezina, Jim Magoon, and DJ Pharaoh – created a mix of lively hip-hop and rock music by drumming on recycled junk, including 50-gallon barrels, plastic tubs, ladders, mailboxes, empty steel canisters, and even the kitchen sink. The Brewster community enjoyed a sensational show and had an opportunity to meet the band after their performance. |

Diversity Dinner
October 2008 -- Celebrating the rich diversity on the Brewster Campus is important for our community. In October the Chinese and Taiwanese students chose a program and menu that would excite the students. As the students were enjoying their meal, the group presented information about their countries and their cultures. It was fun to enjoy a favorite cuisine and listen to and watch the popular music videos from China and Taiwan.
The students started early in the afternoon with all the preparations. Huge strawberries dipped in a sweet sugar coating made a favorite dessert. A huge thank you to Raylene Davis, director of international student programs, and Julianne Lopez, foreign language department chair, for coordinating this event.

Celebrating Halloween
October 26, 2008 -- The Brewster Big Friends were delighted to host so many faculty and staff children at the annual Halloween Party. Sack races, tatoos, pumpkin carving, and donuts on a string were among the favorite activites. It was difficult to tell who was having more fun, the children or the Brewster students! This club looks forward to planning their next events, which will benefit youth in the greater community. |

Halloween 2008 --
It's not just an excuse to be out of dress code! Many students were quite creative as you can see from Mr. Hodges' video.
The creativity didn't stop with costumes, though. Congratulations to Sargent 2, Goodwin, and Piper dorms for winning first place in their categories in the dorm decorating contest. Kudos also to Mason House for winning second place.

October 26, 2008 -- Special Thanks to the Tambone Family for hosting a group of 21 Brewster Patriots Fans! We traveled three hours to witness another win in Foxboro and enjoyed watching the game in style. Minutes before the start of the game, all the seats in Gillette Stadium were full and musket shots were fired by the real patriots (without helmets). The crowd went wild as the Patriots ran onto the field. Mimi Tambone brought Pats shirts for us to wear as we watched the game. Overall, it was a great day to be a Patriot's fan. Thanks again to the Tambone Family!

| September 16, 2008 -- Students and teachers gathered on the field in front of Chamberlain House today for the All-School Photo (at tradition that dates back to at least 1915). After the school photo was taken, the Class of 2009 sat for a class photo on the hillside of the Academic Building and then the "lifers" (four-year students) assembled in front of the Ac for a group photo. All photos will be available for purchase at Family Weekend (October 17 and 18). So, how do more than 400 individuals assemble for a photograph? It's easy. At least our video camera makes it look easy! Watch Video. |

September 3-5, 2008 -- Student leaders returned to campus for three days of leadership training at Camp Merrowvista. Training will help prepare prefects, proctors, and judicial board members for the challenges of leading their peers throughout the coming year. Students participated in exercises focused on the importance of team work in working through challenges. Photos. |
