Pirates of Penzance - Meet the Cast

Student PictureTrevor Colligan
Brookfield, New Hampshire

I'm Trevor Colligan, a senior at Brewster. I play a pirate in the first act and a cop in the second act. I'm also part of the Down, Brewster's improvisation group. I played the ever important powercord in "The Chronicles of Jane," and I played the baker and an Ishmaelite in "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat." I've also helped out on stage crew with creation of many of the sets of these and other plays put on by the Brewster drama group.

I've always been into art, as it is art that I'm most interested in. I'm in the art room regularly. I'd like to eventually work at a job where I can create art with a pencil and enjoy what I do. On the side, I've always enjoyed theatre because it allows me to be someone else for a short time. When I'm on a stage, all outside problems drift away. It's just another avenue for me to be creative.

Student PictureDanah Gordon
Brooklyn, New York

Bonjour! My name is Danah and I act as one of the daughters in the "Pirates of Penzance." I haven't performed in ANY other plays or operas at Brewster. However, I am a part of HOWL the best chorus known to the world as we know it. Unfortunately I won't be able to bless Brewster with my acting or singing skills again or with my presence for that matter. I graduate this year after four llllllooooonnnnggggg but enjoyable years. I will be moving back home (Brooklyn, New York) to civilization (j/k I luv) Wolfeboro. I am the president of the Multicultural Awareness Club, the Editor in Chief of Outcroppings (Brewster's literary magazine), an editor of the Winnipesaukean (Brewster's yearbook), etc. etc. etc. I chose to take part in this play because I wanted to try something new (and it looks good on my college application! j/k). For all those who come to see the play I hope you enjoy yourself and for all those who aren't coming you should be ashamed of yourselves! HAHAHAHAHA Enjoy the Website!

Student PictureGreg Donovan
Tuftonboro, New Hampshire

I'm Greg Donovan, a sophomore at Brewster. I'm a pirate and a cop in the upcoming performance of "Pirates of Penzance." I enjoy acting a lot. It plays a big role in my life. I sing in HOWL, Brewster's chorus, and I also sing in Clearlakes Chorale. They are fantastic experiences. I hope to continue theatre after high school.

Student PictureEve Fritz
Newfane, Vermont

My name is Eve Fritz, and I'm playing one of the lead daughters named Kate in "Pirates of Penzance." I have recently been in "The Chronicles of Jane" that was performed here at Brewster. I've been in drama all three years working with the director Dan Clay on various different performances and improv. I also play the role of drama captain in which I act as a role model for the students who are new to the drama department. The theatre arts at Brewster have helped me grow tremendously. It is partly because of the Brewster theatre department that I was able to get accepted to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts to fulfill my career as an actress. Thanks to Dan Clay, Andy Campbell, and everything Brewster has to offer!

Student PictureJames Foster
Wayne, Pennsylvania

My name is James Foster. I am now a senior and have spent all four years of high school at Brewster. In Gilbert and Sullivan's, "Pirates of Penzance," I play the goofy pirate king. This will be my fourth performance in a musical, and I feel very privileged to have it be my first principle role in a play. In the past I've participated in the opera, "Dido and Aeneas;" I was the pharaoh in "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat;" and during the winter of 2003, I played the page in, "Amahl and the Night Visitors."

I am a tenor for the Clearlakes Chorale chorus group and for the Brewster chorus, "HOWL." When I was 12, I became a singer/songwriter and am now the singer/guitar player for a self-made Brewster band. In the fall I completed my fourth season as a varsity soccer player with the Lakes Region Champions, the Brewster Bobcats. Next year I will be studying music merchandising at Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island, New York.

Student PictureHannah Tameling
Oak Brook, Illinois

My name is Hannah Tameling. I'm 16 and a junior for my first year at Brewster Academy. I'm from Chicago, and I will be playing the part of Mabel in the upcoming musical. I've done plays and such since I was very small. I've been singing for as long as I can remember and joined my first choir in eighth grade, began taking lessons in high school, and have been in several choirs, ensembles, and state competitions since. I'm currently in the school's choir and ensemble, HOWL and SQUEAK as well as Clearlake's Chorale. I've done "Macbeth," "Midsummer Night's Dream," "Brigadoon," and I was the mother in Brewster's opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" earlier this year.

I also play a lot of sports when I'm not working on plays. In the fall I play soccer, ski racing in the winter, and crew in the spring, as well as rock and ice climbing whenever I get the chance. I like to stay as active as I can but my true passion is for music. I'm undecided about studying music in college; I'm currently interested in philosophy, history, and chemistry. I'm very excited about the part of Mabel, it's an absolute dream come true to be able to play this role. I'm ecstatic about this production, and I know it will be a success.

Student PictureJoe Montana
Exeter, New Hampshire

Hi! My name is Joe Montana. I have recently been in "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and "The Chronicles of Jane." I am also a drama captain for spring drama this trimester. I am really excited to perform this production of "Pirates of Penzance." I'm a pirate, a cop, and student producer. Working in collaboration with the Village Players (the local theatre group), both on stage and off as "student producer," has been a great experience, and both students and adults have learned acting skills from one another. Having the incredible talents of Dan Clay (Drama), Andy Campbell (Music), and Alana Harold (Dance) has helped mold the upcoming play into a vibrant and moving act. I am very excited to perform "Pirates" and to work on our student produced plays later in the spring.

Student PictureBemi Aregbesola
Brooklyn, New York

My name is Olugbemisola Aregbesola, and I am playing the role of one of the Major General's many daughters. I've not performed on stage in any plays previous to this, but I have been a part of HOWL for about three years and have participated in other Brewster productions. I'm a senior ("a lifer", having spent the past four years at Brewster). I've run cross country, played field hockey and soccer, and I am now in my fourth season of lacrosse. I've always loved singing, whether it was for fun or in a choir. That is why I decided to join Brewster's renowned HOWL.
