Celebrate Community at Brewster

CookoutAt Brewster, we take community life seriously. Because most students, faculty, coaches, community life parents, and other staff members are together 24 hours a day, it’s important to take time to celebrate our accomplishments as a team.

We do this through a variety of celebrations held throughout the year, offering fun, leadership opportunities, and ways to help others, such as:

All-School Assemblies—Held during A weeks, All-School Assemblies (also known as All-Schools) provide an opportunity for students and faculty to come together for cultural, informational, and entertaining events, as well as for recognition of student achievements.

Family Weekends—Hosted twice a year, family weekends offer an opportunity for your family to meet with teachers and attend athletic and social events.

Fall Fling Thing—Held during the first Family Weekend, Fall Fling Thing offers an opportunity to celebrate autumn in New England with silent and live auctions.

Springfest—Held at Palazzo Field, events include a dunk tank, live band, mechanical bull rides, bungee jumping, bouncy boxing, obstacle course, kite flying, volleyball, tetherball, mini golf, horseshoes, sidewalk art, tug of war, shuffleboard, and “fun” food like snow cones, corn dogs, peanuts, donut holes, and cotton candy.

Winter Formal—Held in February, this popular event gives you the opportunity to dress up and dance the night away.

Winter Carnival and Olympics—Held in January, this week long celebration of spirited events has teams competing for the coveted Carnival title. Contests include team spirit day, team uniform day, a poster creation depicting the team’s theme, the wildly popular lip sync performance, Pictionary night, and the challenging “Olympic Winter Games.”

Team Trip Days—Celebrate each other’s successes and take a well-deserved break from your studies by going apple-picking or to a Portland Sea Dogs baseball game, or to visit local attractions such as Mt. Washington with your academic team.

Grandparents’ Day—Invite your grandparents to campus for a “day in your life,” including a typical meal in the dining hall, classes, sporting events, and social get-togethers.
