Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, January 2004 — Both the boys' and girls' ice hockey teams at Brewster Academy have been ranked #1 in Division II by The Hockey Night in Boston organization's recently published mid-season ranking of New England prep schools. The teams have overall records of 12-1 and 11-2, respectively.

HNIB News reported that "Most impressive was the Bobcats' championship at the Brooks/Pingree [boys'] Tournament, where they knocked off the top two teams in HNIB's preseason poll, defending champion Proctor in the semifinals, avenging the team's only loss to date, and then South Kent in the championship game."

As for the girls, HNIB News reported that "Already owning a pair of wins over Gunnery, and a victory over Holderness, defending New England Girls Division II champion Brewster Academy is asserting itself as the team to beat again in Division II."

The girls have won the Division II title two of the past three years, while the boys have been to the playoffs twice in the past four years, appearing in the finals once.
