Our goal is to ensure quality athletic health care for every athlete at Brewster. This includes injury prevention, immediate injury care, assessment, and clinical evaluation of musculoskeletal injury, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries.
The athletic trainers serve as liaisons between physicians (and other allied health care professionals) and athletes, coaches, and parents, as well as educating students on various health and fitness issues such as strength and conditioning, nutrition, injury prevention, and communicable diseases.
In the event that an athlete is hurt to the extent that it will affect his/her ability to perform normal activities or warrants further evaluation by a physician, an athletic trainer will contact a student's parent or guardian as soon as possible with information and recommendations for proper care of the injured athlete.
