Sylvie Skibicki ’23 has devoted her time and effort to multiple arts pursuits. First, she has been working diligently on how best to showcase her artwork in her portfolio, with a keen view toward college applications. “I could not have done any of the work I have done this fall without the help of the arts faculty and I am beyond grateful to have them there with me through every step of the way,” she says. Sylvie has also taken on the extra responsibilities of being an Arts Department Intern and starting a new wall mural for the school during her free time. She is also studying the clothing consumption patterns and attitudes toward the environment of Generation Z, Millennials, and Generation X in her AP Research course, augmenting her dream to become a sustainable clothing designer. The ArtCat Award came as a surprise to Sylvie: “I was wonderfully surprised when winning the ArtCat because the award becoming a weekly occurrence was something that myself and Liam Fahey advocated for within the Arts Department as Art Interns on the Leadership Team. Little did I know I was advocating to be awarded myself!”
