US Lacrosse has named rising Brewster senior Katie Chiasson  (Pelham, New Hampshire) an Academic All-American. Chiasson had a brilliant season for Brewster’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team, leading the Bobcats to a league co-championship and helping the squad advance to the finals of the Lakes Region League tournament. She tallied 45 goals and handed out 10 assists and recorded 59 ground balls as the Bobcats finished their season with a 13-3 record. For the second consecutive season, Chiasson was named a Lakes Region League All-Star.

Chiasson, who arrived at Brewster as a sophomore, is a three-sport athlete (field hockey/ basketball/lacrosse) and carries a 3.9 GPA and has made a verbal commitment to attend Lafayette College where she will play lacrosse for the Leopards. She is Brewster’s second female lacrosse player to earn Academic All-American honors with Julia Sledzik ’17 (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida) garnering that honor last year.

“We are all incredibly proud of Katie for her accomplishments in the classroom and on the field,” noted Melissa Lawlor, girls’ head lacrosse coach (above with Katie). “Katie is a humble and reserved person but incredibly hard-working and competitive and very much deserving of this recognition. I am just glad to have her for one more year!”
