September’s Alumni Athlete of the Month: Clare Cassidy-Gardner ‘17

We kick off this school year's "Alumni Athlete of the Month" series with our first-ever Zoom spotlight and our first-ever college sailor to be featured as our alumni athlete of the month. In this video, Brewster Athletic Director Matt Lawlor interviews Clare Cassidy-Gardner '17, now at George Washington University in D.C., who describes her proudest moments and how Brewster prepared her for college success. In this video interview, she credits her three years in Instructional Support as the launchpad for her college success, fondly remembering the teachers who meant the most to her along the way. She also recalls what it was like coming from her city home to the “country” here in Wolfeboro!

Cassidy-Gardner was a standout in soccer and sailing as a Bobcat. At GW, she has built even more great memories on the water, but adds that one of her proudest achievements as a college athlete was being nominated for the University’s Student Athletics Advisory Committee in her freshman year.

Cassidy-Gardner carries on the Brewster mission of living a life of purpose by giving her time and energy to two community service projects in D.C.: feeding the homeless and coaching in underserved communities to help lower income kids learn the joy and purpose that comes from participating in athletics.

Enjoy the video and learn more about this outstanding Brewster alumna, her plan to use her degree in organizational sciences after she graduates this May, and her best advice for current Brewster students.
