Bobcat Nation Celebrates Spring Commitment Day 2023

For some Bobcats, athletic competition doesn’t end when they depart Brewster. On May 23, 2023, the community celebrated the student-athletes who have already signed their Division 1 National Letter of Intent, as well as those recruited and committed Division 3 student-athletes who will be playing interscholastic athletics at the next level.

“Today is your public announcement and congratulations from Bobcat Nation for your years of hard work, and our well-wishes for your next meaningful journey,” said Director of Athletics Connor Wells to the gathering in the Turner Hall of Fame Room. “This ceremony is about YOU and your commitment to your craft. You have earned tremendous opportunities to continue your athletic careers at the next level, and I am thrilled to take part in this celebration with you.”
Wells also took a moment to acknowledge the dedication of Brewster’s many coaches, thanking them for their “tireless hours of work and passion that have developed, instructed, and mentored the student-athletes we celebrate this morning.”

After the committed athletes were named, Wells asked them to remember another group who has supported them: “I please ask that you do not forget and always appreciate those who sacrificed to get you to where you are today—your parents especially. And, please never forget your Bobcat family. Brewster is a place you may always call home.”
