It was a record-breaking year at Brewster Academy’s annual Bobcat Open on September 6, held at the Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club in nearby New Durham. More than 115 alumni, parents, students, friends, and neighbors joined in the fun. The Bobcat Open brought in close to $50,000 and supported The Fund for Brewster.

“We are always so grateful for members of the Brewster family and our Lakes Region community who come to enjoy themselves on the course for such a good cause—helping Brewster fulfill its mission to prepare diverse thinkers for lives of purpose,” said Kristy Kerin, Associate Head of School and the golfer who took home the honor of longest drive among women.

Before the 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, Brewster Head of School Craig Gemmell welcomed the largest crowd in the past four years, saying, “It is terrific to have such a strong turnout as we enjoy one of the first events of our 200th year. Thanks for helping us celebrate Brewster’s Bicentennial and make a great school ever stronger!”

Bobcat Open organizers said the event continues to grow each year due, in part, to strong partnerships with and sponsorships from the school’s vendors and suppliers, including Green Mountain Communications, Wood and Clay, Inc., Veracross, Casella Waste Systems, Benemax, Omada Technologies, Eastern Propane, and Samyn D’Elia Architects. The Open’s platinum sponsors, the Santomero Family Foundation and Art and Cathy Coviello of Synchrony Financial and ClearSky Ventures, gave at the highest level, leading the way for dozens of local businesses and donors.
