Fine and Performing Arts Department
The Fine and Performing Arts Department at Brewster views art education as an important and integral part of the curriculum. The faculty believe coursework in both the fine and performing arts affords students an accessible mode of self-expression, a window into the experiences of others, and an opportunity to strengthen empathy. Through dance, photography, music, theater, sculpting, painting, drawing, and other modes of creative expression, Brewster students learn vital collaboration and technical skills while expanding their own concept of art—with plentiful opportunities to perform and display their work throughout the year.
Inspiring Spaces!
At Brewster, our renovated Rogers building is a hub for all kinds of creative work and exploration. There are ceramics classes in a studio with a lake view, classrooms with all the amenities and space a painter, sculptor, or designer could want, and a professional-level darkroom. There is also a modern dance studio, a versatile black box theater, multiple music practice rooms, and galleries to showcase student creations.
