Visiting Wolfeboro

Known as The Oldest Summer Resort in America, Brewster’s hometown of Wolfeboro is nestled in New Hampshire’s storied Lakes Region. The town offers a vibrant mix of restaurants, coffee and ice cream shops, pizza places, clothing stores, parks and trails, art galleries, a pharmacy, two grocery stores, and a wide variety of local shops.

When planning a visit to Brewster in Wolfeboro, your lodging options include inns, hotels, cottages, motels, and more. We are fortunate that there are several properties within walking distance of campus, and some just steps away! These include Pickering House InnThe Suite InnThe Cottages of WolfeboroCrescent Lake InnWindrifter ResortThe Wolfeboro Inn, and The Inn on Main. You may also like to consider the nearby and alumni-owned Lake Wentworth Inn—it’s always nice to support fellow Bobcats!  Don’t forget the other resort towns around Lake Winnipesaukee: Alton, Gilford, Meredith, Laconia, Lakeport, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, Melvin Village, and Tuftonboro. They are between 20 and 50 minutes away from Brewster, and the drive around the lake is quite pretty, especially in the fall. If you are seeking a chain hotel option, the small cities of Rochester and Dover are only 35 to 45 minutes from campus. We recommend booking as far in advance as possible—Wolfeboro and the Lakes Region are popular year-round, especially on holiday weekends like Memorial Day.
