Gifts of Stock
A gift of long-term, appreciated stock saves money in two ways: your income taxes may be reduced because of the charitable donation, and you could avoid capital gains tax that would have applied had you sold the shares yourself. Securities can be transferred electronically.

Planned Giving
Methods of making planned gifts include deferred gifts, bequests, trust instruments, independent retirement accounts (IRAs), IPOs, options, and restricted stock. All individuals who establish a planned gift of any amount through any of these vehicles are inducted into the Brewster's 1887 Society to recognize their commitment to the traditions, mission, and values of the Academy.
Wiring Gifts
Brewster accepts wired cash gifts, including Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from IRAs and 401ks.

Matching Gifts
Does your company match employee's charitable gifts?
Naming Brewster as a recipient of your matching gift program can double or even triple the size of your donation. Please check with your HR department to obtain the appropriate paperwork and notify the Advancement Office at the time of your gift.
