Kenison Library
The Kenison Library, a beautiful, welcoming facility with an unmatched view of Lake Winnipesaukee and the mountains beyond, provides a space for learning, exploring, creating, studying, and acquiring knowledge. The library serves as a multi-purpose resource center that meets the informational, educational, and recreational needs of the Brewster community.
Students come to the library to study, do research, and to browse the collection. Comfortable seating areas, group work tables, and individual study carrels provide a variety of study options for students; the expansive view outside the window provides inspiration. Teachers bring their classes down to work or to receive instruction, maximizing flexible use of the space. And friendly, expert, helpful librarians are always available to assist students with their work.
The Kenison Library offers a well-balanced collection of over 12,000 books and periodicals, as well as a wealth of electronic resources. Forty databases cover a wide array of topics from science, history, current events, and literature to biographies, pop culture, and the environment. The library also provides several online subscriptions to numerous periodicals including the New York Times and National Geographic, providing access to contemporary and engaging journalism.
Kenison Librarians work closely with faculty. Instruction in searching the library’s catalog, databases, and the internet is available for groups and individuals. The goal of the Kenison Library staff is to enhance the educational experience of the Brewster community and to leave students equipped with the research and analysis skills required in college and beyond.
