Xiang Wang (Jason)

Director of International Student Programs

Biography

Jason Wang came to Brewster during the summer of 2018 after working at Vermont Academy (VA) from 2013 to 2018. While at VA, Jason worked closely to support international students, taught Chinese, coached soccer, basketball, and tennis while serving as a dorm parent and advisor. From 2015 to 2018, Jason co-designed and led the VA Trimester Abroad Program in Hangzhou, China, where VA students spent 2 months in China studying Chinese culture and language and visiting many Chinese cities to develop a global competency and citizenship.

At Brewster, Jason's primary role is to create and lead robust International Student Programs where the Brewster Community celebrates its rich cultural diversity while providing academic, social, and emotional support to its 80 international students. An immigrant from China and having studied abroad in Sweden and Denmark, Jason admires, understands, and empathizes with the challenges international students face and overcome on a daily basis. He wants to make sure Brewster feels like home yet encourages students to step out of their comfort zone to learn from each other and become global citizens to contribute to the greater good. Additionally, Jason teaches Chinese language classes and is the Community Life Parent in Avery House.

During his free time, Jason walks and plays with his Labradoodle pup, Mickey, and watches many European soccer matches. He is a strong supporter of AC Milan and Boca Juniors, soccer clubs from Italy and Argentina. Jason is also a world traveller where food, history, language, music, and soccer become the central themes of his itinerary.

Roy Ballentine P'94, '97

Biography

Roy Ballentine and wife Sandy live in Wolfeboro and are Brewster alumni parents to daughter Susan, a 1994 graduate, and son Brian, a 1997 graduate. Prior to becoming board chair in 2015, Roy served as treasurer and chair of the finance and budget committee. Roy is executive chairman of Ballentine Partners LLC, which traces its roots to Ballentine & Co. Inc., which he founded in 1984. Roy is an endowment trustee for the Wolfeboro Area Children's Center, a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NH, and a board member of Families in Transition. Roy recently completed his term as a member of the statewide Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

Arthur W. Coviello, Jr.

RSA, The Security Division of Dell technologies (EMC)

Since his retirement as the chief executive officer of RSA, Art Coviello has remained very active in the security industry, investing in and advising a number of security startups as a private investor and in his roles as a Venture Partner at Rally Ventures (an early stage investor in business technologies), as an adviser to ClearSky Security Fund, and as a Senior Advisor to Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities Group.

Mr. Coviello’s decades of expertise and influence have made him a recognized leader in the field and a regular speaker at conferences and forums around the world.

Prior to RSA, Mr. Coviello had extensive executive management experience in several technology companies.

He started his career as a certified public accountant at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (Deloitte.)

Mr. Coviello serves on the Boards of Directors at Synchrony Financial, Bugcrowd, Tenable, Capsule8, and ZeroNorth.

He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts in 1975 with a BBA, concentration in accounting.

Brian C. Ballentine '97

Biography

Brian Ballentine is the senior vice president for strategy and senior advisor to the president at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. The 8th oldest university in the nation, Rutgers has three major campuses, a world-class academic medical enterprise, and enrolls over 70,000 students. In his role, Brian is charged with leading major, cross-cutting initiatives for the university. He is a member of the President’s Cabinet and Associate Professor of the Practice of the Humanities in the Department of English at Rutgers-New Brunswick.

Prior to his appointment overseeing university strategy, he served as chief of staff from 2016 to 2020, and was responsible for the administration and day-to-day operations of the Office of the President, overseeing the flow of information within the university’s senior administration and serving as the president’s point person for a wide array of initiatives and projects.

Brian is the former executive director of Rutgers’ Aresty Research Center for Undergraduates, organizing a suite of programs that support undergraduate research training and initiatives for more than 800 students and more than 200 professors each year.

Before coming to Rutgers, he was research director at CEB, now Gartner, a global consulting and advisory firm, in Washington, DC. He served in the AmeriCorps VISTA program and earned a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Brown University. Brian’s teaching and research has focused on the history of English language and on the value of the humanities.

Brian lives in New Jersey with his wife, Debra, who is a scholar of ancient religions, and their two children. He was a “lifer” at Brewster, and a member of the first class to go through the new Brewster Model.

Robert J. Mueller GP '17

Biography

Robert J. Mueller has a long history of involvement with the town of Wolfeboro and is now a Brewster grandparent, as grandson Grant is a member of the Class of 2017. Summering in the area since the 1970s, Mueller is a vintage boat enthusiast who has been actively involved in the vintage boat races that occur in Wolfeboro Bay every other autumn. With an impressive career in finance, he was with The Bank of New York from 1965–1978 as vice president and after working with Fidelity Union Bank and Carteret Savings Bank in the 1970s and 1980s, Mueller returned to The Bank of New York from 1989–2004 as the senior executive vice president. He currently serves on multiple other boards and is especially proud of his 15 years of service on the board of the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) Foundation, which supports the largest institution in the City University of New York system. Mueller holds a bachelor of arts from Duke University and an MBA from NYU/GBA.

Carlos Noble '70

Biography

Carlos Noble, a 1970 graduate, and wife Georgia live in Coral Gables, Florida. Carlos is senior vice president at The Northern Trust Company in Miami where he manages the bank’s East Region residential lending activities. He also is involved with the bank’s community reinvestment activities. He currently serves as president of the board of directors of the Florida Community Loan Fund in Orlando; as vice chair of the board of directors of First Housing Development Corporation in Tampa; as co-chair of the United Way of Miami-Dade’s Older Adult’s Impact Council; and is a member of the United Way of Miami-Dade’s Community Investment Committee and Redesign Task Force. He received a B.A. in foreign service from Georgetown University and a master’s in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona.

Ronn Bronzetti '92

Biography

Ronn Bronzetti operates a real estate business called the “Lake Winni Team” with his wife, Sara Reineman, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. From multi-million dollar waterfront homes, to homes for first-time home buyers, the Lake Winni Team’s business approach creates buying and selling strategies individually tailored to meet the needs and preferences of their clients. The Lake Winni Team consistently ranks within the top 3% of all Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices realtors.

Ronn’s greatest asset is his ability to build relationships and forge personal connections. A New Hampshire native, Ronn grew up in Exeter, summered in Alton Bay, was a camper at Kabeyun, and graduated from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH. Prior to coming home to Wolfeboro, Ronn held senior non-profit fundraising positions in Atlanta and Boston (The Lovett School, Noble and Greenough School and the New England Conservatory) and was involved in Boston-based tech startups. Ronn currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Brewster Academy, and the Board of the New Hampshire Boat Museum. He is a past member of the Wolfeboro Heritage Commission, the Board of Trustees for the Beacon Hill Civic Association and Breakthrough Greater Boston. In 2018, Ronn was the recipient of the Brewster Academy’s David L. Carson Alumnus of the year award.

B. Martha Cassidy P'17

Biography

B. Martha Cassidy
Director—Investment Management, Abbott Capital Management

Martha has more than 30 years of private equity investment and fund management experience.  At Abbott, she is primarily focused on the firm’s sourcing, due diligence and negotiations associated with secondary private equity investments.  She is also a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Abbott in 2013, Ms. Cassidy was a Managing Director at Capital Dynamics, Inc. where she developed and managed the firm’s secondary business ultimately raising the firm’s first institutional secondary private equity fund in 2009. She also worked at Overture Capital Partners, Madison Investment Partners, CCMP (formerly Chemical Venture Partners), and Mid Ocean Partners (formerly Bankers Trust private equity business)where she was among the first female partners in the private equity industry.  She gained operating experience as executive management for a private equity backed middle market manufacturing company.  She also worked for the McNeil Division (Tylenol products) of Johnson & Johnson in sales management after college.

Martha Cassidy has served as director of public and private companies spanning many industries over many cycles. Martha has served on 14 boards since 1990 as part of her responsibilities as an investor or as a partner in private equity firms owning these companies.  She has deep experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, restructurings, executive management development and strategic planning used to achieve growth and increase shareholder value.

Martha earned an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School in finance and marketing and has a BA, magna cum laude, from Wellesley College. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Brewster Academy and the Wellesley Business Leadership Council. Martha lives in New York City with her wife Susan and Sugar, a wire fox terrier. They have two daughters including Clare (BA ’17) who attends George Washington University.

J. Scott Curvey

Biography

Scott Curvey has a lengthy connection to the Lakes Region area as a summer resident of Moultonborough, New Hampshire and joined the Board in 2021. Scott’s far-reaching board experience includes his present role as Treasurer of The Lionheart Foundation and former Treasurer of the Bald Peak Land Company as well as previous Director positions of Linear Air, VideSante Pharmaceuticals and Process Unity.

Scott is a graduate of Lehigh University with a BS in Economics. He is currently a private/venture investor and a member of Blu Ventures, based in Washington, D.C. The majority of Mr. Curvey’s professional career was spent in the healthcare industry working at Harvard Community Health Care, Boston Children’s Hospital and Hill Holiday Exhibition Services. Scott and his wife, Rebecca, spend the majority of the year in Naples, Florida and are ardent golfers and grateful travelers.

Scott fortifies the legacy of the Curvey family on Brewster’s board, joining his father James C. Curvey who has served as a Board Member since 2014.
