The Brewster Interact Club
By Hanna Taylor ’26
In this feature, junior Hanna Taylor of Smiths, Bermuda shares an update on the Brewster Interact Club, which she founded in November 2024. Recently, Head of School Kristy Kerin noted that Hanna’s leadership of the Club has been impressive, adding, “kudos for getting the club off the ground in the first year, for recruiting a strong group of volunteers, for nurturing close ties with the Rotary Club, and for all of your organization.”
The Brewster Interact Club is a student-led club sponsored by the Wolfeboro Rotary Club. We focus on developing leadership skills and making a positive impact on all communities through service. Besides our members, we also have a leadership team. I have served as the president, along with Vice President Sophia Rock ’26, Treasurer Reika Ueno ’26, Secretary Gabi Reynolds ’27, and Social Media Coordinators Isabella Bailey ’27 and Emery Condon ’27.
Alongside our members and with the guidance of Ms. Janis Cornwell, we have completed multiple community service projects, our biggest being a food drive supported by the Brewster community. Together, we raised close to $300 in cash donations and approximately $350 worth of food items! All these donations were then received gratefully by the local food pantry. Thank you to everyone who supported this effort.

For another food drive a few weeks later, we partnered up with the Lions Club. A group of us from the Interact Club stood outside Harvest Market (the rain did not dampen our drive!), asking the local community for food or cash donations. After a long day, we ended up filling a whole food pantry truck with food donations! We plan on continuing more community service projects throughout the next school year. I hope everyone enjoys their summer and considers joining us in the fall—we are always open to new members.
