Welcome Brewster’s Newest Class: A Global Community of Thinkers, Dreamers, and Doers
By Bryan Gross
There’s an unmistakable energy on campus this fall as Brewster welcomes 121 new students to our community. This year’s incoming class is one of our most dynamic yet, bringing together new students from 18 U.S. states and 19 countries around the world.
Our new Bobcats bring the best of diverse and curious minds, hailing from nearby New Hampshire and Connecticut, to as far away as Wyoming, Arizona, Washington, and California. Internationally, our new students have enthusiastically traveled from countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Costa Rica, South Africa, China, and the United Kingdom, to name a few. This breadth of representation underscores Brewster’s identity as an international boarding school, one where students don’t just learn from their teachers, but from one another’s cultures, languages, and perspectives.
Our students also bring an incredible array of passions and pursuits to campus. Among the incoming class, you’ll find athletes joining high-level teams, musicians who have performed with professional ensembles, students eager to try new activities for the very first time, and young leaders ready to dive into debate, outdoor adventures, and creative arts. Whether it’s on the playing field, in the studio, or in the classroom, the incoming class is eager to make their mark.
New ninth grader Bailey Gross came to Brewster from Longmeadow, Mass. She shared her excitement about the start of the year: “What I like most so far are the teachers and the small class sizes. It feels like everyone knows you and wants you to succeed. My team leader, Mr. O, is funny, kind, and already one of my favorite teachers. It is so cool to be part of a class with students from all over the world. I have already met students from Mexico and Japan.”
With so many new faces, fresh perspectives, and bold ambitions, the start of this academic year marks an exciting chapter in Brewster’s ever-evolving story. To our new students and families: Welcome! And to our community of parents, alumni, and friends—thank you for helping us build the momentum by spreading the word about what makes Brewster such a vibrant, thriving school.
